Midland, Michigan – The Midland Business Alliance (MBA) Advisory Committee on Infrastructure held its “High Water Mark” community event on May 22. For those who could not attend, the event was recorded and is available for viewing on the MBA Website or on Midland Community Television (MCTV).
Lansing has been a flurry of activity this past week. The repeal of the state's landmark Right to Work law, and reinstatement of prevailing wage, has kept lawmakers and the media quite busy. Following a few more procedural steps, the bills are expected to head to Governor Whitmer's desk.
In last month's Policy Sneak Peek, we provided an outline of Governor Whitmer's "Lowering MI Taxes" proposal. Part of that proposal was a $180 one-time check to all Michigan's tax filers. That would have spent down the dollars remaining in the FY '22 budget, thus avoiding the trigger for an income tax cut, from 4.25% to 4.05%.
