The Midland Business Alliance has been huge for us,” Mayo said. “It’s given us a place to meet people, network, and learn what’s happening in the community.”

For Lisa Mayo and Ashley LaVigne, that sense of connection has played a key role in building Scrubbydubs Cleaning Service, LLC — a business rooted in both community and purpose.

Both Mayo and LaVigne came from the corporate world, but shared a desire to build something of their own.

“We wanted to exercise our entrepreneurial spirit,” Mayo said, “and provide a service that gives people time back.”

That idea quickly resonated.

“We knew so many people juggling work, kids, and everything after school,” LaVigne said. “There just isn’t enough time.”

That simple realization became the foundation of Scrubbydubs Cleaning.

From Idea to Growth

The business officially launched in June of 2024. In just under two years, the company has grown steadily, with 2025 serving as a major year of expansion.

“The first year was all about building,” Mayo said. “We focused on our processes, procedures, and technology to make sure everything runs smoothly.”

With that foundation in place, growth followed.

“2025 was a big growth year for us,” LaVigne added. “And in 2026, our goal is to double again.”

Selling Time, Not Just Cleaning

While Scrubbydubs provides residential and select commercial cleaning services, Mayo and LaVigne see their work as something more meaningful.

“The main thing that we sell is time,” Mayo said. “And time is such a limited resource.”

By taking cleaning off a client’s plate, the service allows families to focus on what matters most—whether that’s time with their kids, rest, or simply breathing room in a busy schedule.

At the same time, the company is intentional about creating a positive experience for both clients and employees.

“When you pair that with someone who loves to clean and enjoys what they do, it brings a lot of joy,” LaVigne said. “It just works really well together.”

A Customer Experience Built on Trust

Because cleaning services require entering someone’s home, Scrubbydubs places a strong emphasis on trust, communication, and professionalism.

“We really shine a light on our customer service,” LaVigne said.

From the initial quote to the final payment, every step is designed to be simple and transparent. Clients can receive reminders, make payments, and leave feedback through an easy-to-use online portal.

“Inviting someone into your home requires trust,” she said. “We want our clients to feel comfortable and confident working with us.”

That commitment to communication extends internally as well. Technicians receive direct feedback through the platform, along with tips and performance recognition.

“They love seeing that feedback,” Mayo said. “It’s rewarding for them to know they did a good job.”

Powered by Community Connections

Scrubbydubs’ growth has been closely tied to the local business community.

“The Midland Business Alliance has been huge for us,” Mayo said. “It’s given us a place to meet people, network, and learn what’s happening in the community.”

That visibility has translated directly into business opportunities.

One connection at a Business After Hours event led to a feature in the Midland Daily News, which helped drive a wave of new clients.

“That exposure almost filled an entire technician’s schedule,” LaVigne said.

Beyond networking, resources like CMURC, the Small Business Development Center, and local programs have helped the business refine its strategy and continue growing.

“It’s not just about learning on your own,” Mayo said. “There are people here who genuinely want to help you succeed.”

A Name That Sticks

Even the company’s name reflects its personality.

“We were throwing around more traditional names at first,” LaVigne said. “Then someone said ‘Scrubbydubs,’ and we laughed.”

But the more they said it, the more it stuck.

“We thought, this is fun. This is something we’d enjoy saying every day,” Mayo said.

As it turns out, their clients agree.

“We’ve actually had someone hire us just because they loved the name,” LaVigne added.

Looking Ahead

As Scrubbydubs continues to grow, Mayo and LaVigne are focused on scaling the business while investing in their team.

“Our goal is to double our client base and our team,” Mayo said.

That includes hiring additional technicians, developing internal trainers, and eventually adding administrative support.

“We want our team to grow with us,” LaVigne said. “If they want to develop new skills or take on more responsibility, we want to create those opportunities.”

Long-term, they also hope to expand benefits as the company grows, reinforcing their commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued.

At its core, the mission remains simple.

“We just want to provide a great experience,” Mayo said. “Clear communication, strong service, and something people can rely on.”

Because at the end of the day, Scrubbydubs isn’t just cleaning homes—it’s giving people something far more valuable.
