Carrying the Torch: Taylor Trapani Leads a Legacy of Clear, Compassionate Communication
When Taylor Trapani officially took the reins of Trapani Communications in January 2024, she wasn’t just stepping into a new role—she was continuing a family legacy three decades in the making.
The company, founded by her mother 30 years ago, has long been a behind-the-scenes force in Midland’s communications landscape. Specializing in strategic and crisis communications, Trapani Communications has helped countless organizations share their stories, navigate challenges, and strengthen their connection to the community.
“It was always my dream to take over her business,” Taylor said. “I’ve always loved writing and the kind of work she’s done. The opportunity to help clients communicate their initiatives, their projects, or their missions—that’s what inspires me.”
That mission has led Trapani Communications to play a pivotal role in some of Midland’s most recognizable moments. From the arrival of the Great Lakes Loons to major initiatives like the new Midland Community Center, Taylor and her team have been trusted partners, often working as embedded members of larger project teams.
One standout example? The firm’s role in the Midland Community Center project.
“We were really involved—as an extension of their team. I worked from their office several days a week during a key period,” Taylor explained. “Getting to be part of the groundbreaking and then seeing our name on the recognition wall in the lobby—that was incredibly special.”
While the company may not always be in the spotlight, its influence is undeniable. Trapani Communications helps organizations find clarity during times of change and challenge—crafting messages, guiding public responses, and preparing leaders to communicate effectively when it matters most.
“We’re a small business, which allows us to be agile,” Taylor said. “That flexibility is essential in communications. The industry is always evolving, especially with technology, and we’re ready to adapt to whatever comes next.”
Taylor is quick to note that the strength of the business lies not just in its client work, but in the people who surround it—colleagues, community partners, and mentors alike.
“There are so many incredibly smart, talented, and passionate people in this region. I’ve gotten to learn from so many of them,” she said. “Whether it’s new initiatives or exciting projects, it’s inspiring to witness and even more rewarding to be a part of.”
Though she’s still early in her journey as president, Taylor is energized by the road ahead—filled with possibilities, big ideas, and new opportunities to support others through powerful communication.
“I don’t know exactly what the future holds,” she admitted with a smile. “But I know we’ll be here—and I’m excited about the dreams, the risks, and the potential that come with it.”
